In a year when everything is upside down, we also turned our savoire-faire on its head. And so, a bit by chance and without much thought, we got to work to bring Can Ribas cuisine to your homes.
Óscar, the chef, stripped of a silenced kitchen for too long, verbalized his “I need to cook” and thus, simply and plainly, a Christmas menu was created to take away and give the kitchen a boost. For five days, the noise of the dishwasher became louder again. Hurry, hurry, more orders, the fire alive, everyone with the apron, some labeling, others bagging, the chef chopping, cutting and flambéing, Toni with his three hundred suzzete crêpes to package, béchamel without stopping, the xup xup of the sofrito, the “pilota de l’escudella”… and with our hands in the dough and between nervous laughter we told Óscar that all the chips were in his box.
